Elope in Barbados
The Jewel in the Caribbean!
Barbados is often called the "Jewel in the Caribbean," so it's not wonder many couples choose to elope to this
Caribbean Island, which is blessed with a 60-mile coastline.
The eastern-most of the Caribbean Islands, Barbados is known for it's beautiful and varied coastlines. The west
coast, called "The Platinum Coast," is bound by the gentle, Caribbean Sea. The east coast, which is the Atlantic
Ocean side, is known for it's bigger waves, so it's popular with surfers. The south coast is a combination of
Caribbean and Atlantic waters.
The restaurants in Barbados have been touted as some of the best in the world. With such cuisine as flying fish,
beef stew, baked chicken, and other tasty delights; it’s no wonder visitors forego hotel dining and venture out to
the local restaurants.
Thoroughly British, Barbados was under English rule for over 300 years. Though the island is now an independent
nation, Bajans (as natives of Barbados call themselves) are still proud of their British heritage.
Barbados is one of the most popular vacation spots in the Caribbean. You can fly into the Grantley Adams
International Airport, renowned as one of the finest in the world or arrive by cruise ship in the capital city of
Bridgetown.
